You receive the best support staff available
Our staff is here to help you! Tomoka Eye Associates has the good fortune to work with some of the most experienced ophthalmic assistants, technicians, opticians, and medical receptionists in the area. By nurturing a positive and friendly work environment, we provide you with the most competent and professional staff imaginable.

We are fortunate to have a highly skilled staff with a wide breadth of ocular experience to draw from. Many of our staff have been employed for decades, with years of experience in refraction, surgical workup, and medical treatment. This means you’ll receive a friendly and experienced staff member who will walk you through the entire appointment.

Your time is valuable!
You may have found that medical visits are frequently time consuming and frustrating. This is often especially true with an eye appointment, as it can take a while for your eyes to dilate and measuring your glasses prescription can be challenging. Our staff’s goal is to make your visit an efficient one, minimizing your wait and maximizing your vision and ocular health!

Our staff works very hard to stay on schedule. However, ocular emergencies sometimes arise - that both the staff and doctors must deal with to insure the safety of our patient’s vision. If we are delayed for a prolonged time, we’ll do our best to notify you before hand. You can assist us by being on time for your appointment and letting us know if you are running late. We know your time is valuable and strive to maintain an efficient office.

What you can do to help our staff
There are several things you can do to help our staff. These will speed your face-time with our doctors, decrease time repeating forms, and make your appointment a more enjoyable one.

1. Be sure to bring your glasses to your appointment. We would hate to write you a new prescription, only to find that there was no change from your current glasses that you left at home!
2. Keep your medications written down on a list. This way you won’t have to spend minutes trying to recall all your pills from memory.
3. Bring your eyedrops with you. Our staff can go through them and see which ones you are on or need to take.

Continuing Medical Education:

We are dedicated to improving our knowledge so that we can better serve patients who put their trust in us. We regularly arrange skill sessions and training courses to advance both our own staff, but also the staff for offices in the surrounding Daytona Beach area. This dedication to learning fosters an atmosphere of self-improvement that further develops excellence in our staff.

Here is a sample of some of the coursework our motivated staff have put together for training advanced support skills:
